This school was started in a humble way in 1979 with KG sections. It grew from strength to strength and became a primary school.Now a word about RADM. K.R. RAMANATH in whose memory the school was named. The first director of NSTL was commodore (later Rear Admiral) K.R. Ramanath. He was also Director of Naval Science and Technology (renamed as DNRD) in the R & D Headquarters, New Delhi. Admiral Ramanath with his personal endeavour was able to obtain very prime land adjacent to the NH-5 for establishing the present NSTL Complex. In addition, with very few staff he worked out the total project case which envisaged the establishment of this laboratory to completely cover the total aspects of Naval Technology.....
